Wright’s Bar B Q – Mexia, Texas

Wright’s is by far the best Bar B Q anywhere. It is not your traditional brisket with sauce like many other Texas Barbecue houses. This is something special. The Deux Burger is a combination of Chipped Beef with a hot link sliced and laid across the top, with plenty of sauce mixed in. This is by far my favorite but all the meats and sides are awesome. You have to try it and then you will be hooked. Next time you are in town to play the Blackcats you need to make this a pre-game ritual.

Ojeda’s – Dallas and Plano

This place is too good to be true! After living in South Texas for over 15 years, Ojeda’s was a welcome find in North Texas for my South Texas taste buds. Service is exceptional and the food is delicious!! I would recommend the Sour Cream Chicken Enchiladas but the fajitas are incredible too. Definitely check them out! They have several locations in the Dallas area. I frequent the one in Plano since I live nearby, but check all of their locations on the way to the game!

Louie Mueller Barbecue – Taylor

I have frequented Louie Mueller Barbecue many times over the years, and as one who considers myself as a true Texas Barbecue Connoisseur (had to use spell check on that one), this is truly one of my favorites. While there are thousands of BBQ joints in TX this one really stands out. It has been featured on the Food Network’s Diners Drive Ins and Dives. The hospitality, the smoky walls, the history, are incredible. And so is the food. When in Taylor for a game or just passing through, this is a definite must stop!

JC’s Burger House – Plano

JC’s is a really good place for burgers and the best part is the meat, lots of meat. The burgers come in 1/2, 1/3 and 1/4 pound sizes and the meat always taste freshly ground. Definitely a place to stop if you are attending a game in the Plano / Frisco area.
